A Lovely Recount, for my Lovelies

Fellow Followers, I've failed you all over the past three weeks. I've ignored my duties as the Possum Hunting lunatic that I am, and I've not felt entirely good about it.  The truth is -- I've been drowning. In work, in travel, in baby shower planning, in love, but mostly -- in work. I will offer a quick update of highlights worth noting:

  • Hair Loss - Check: Last week, I made the bold move to chop off 10+ inches of brown locks. I'd had it with fights with the tangled lot, and mornings spent cursing it. Pictures to ensue.
  • Unexpected promotion - check: All the long hours seem to have paid off, and I was informed in late April - to my shock and delight - that I was being promoted to an upper management position. So far, it's come mostly in the form of more meetings.
  • 100 degrees - Check: Phoenix summer weather is here, and I couldn't be more annoyed with its arrival. Early morning runs are now the only way, and even then, they're just not as sweet.
  • Rattle Snake Sighting - Check: I almost stepped on an Arizona rattlesnake while hiking Camelback Mountain. It was light tan, shook its rattle at me, and terrified me to no end.
  • Rekindled Love Interest - Check: Back in the business of elated confusion.
  • Highway Wine Robbery - Check: I've been had by an ex... and billed for a wine shipment that never came, and never was ordered. $185 lighter, it's not worth the battle.
  • Rekindled Love Interest That's Going Nowhere - Check: It's fun to be in an emotional state of infatuation across state borders. Not.
  • BEST sushi to Date - Check: Hidden gems are the place to try great sushi, y'all. For those that are in, and around LA, Sushi Ike is the spot. Sit at the bar, and thank me later.
  • Office Baby Shower - Check: Hosting 30 state government individuals for a sweet coworker's impending baby girl at your place of residence was no small feat, but we pulled it off with flying colors, and even managed to finish all the champagne.
I promise to be better about recounts of my lovely journeys, and crazy encounters. Life is good. Life is sweet.
